The Thunderstorm

A thunderstorm rolls in The rain pounds It leaves as quickly as it came Leaving echoes of it sounds Sidewalks lined with remnants Of the smashing rain Flowers bent, muddy puddles Heavy leaves ripe with gain Thudding footsteps on the ground Yearning for a destination Quiet wishes spoken aloud But not without an explanation I awake one night feeling The sweetest dream I ever had My pounding heart and shaking body Has my beautiful mind gone mad? As the powerful crack of thunder Follows the brightest spark of light I knew deep in my soul That this feeling was right
