The Third Act of Three

The man just smiled for he had no answers
Send in the clowns and the three bear dancers

He sat on a bench and sipped at his wine
And chuckled to himself that"something is mine"

He thought, too, about how he got here
Where did they all go the things he held dear

Here in the third act of a three act play
The first two a failure but who's to say

"Walk on, young fellow," he said to a tramp
"You have miles to go before you can camp."

Decision time came like it always did
Catch a freight North or get back on the grid

He'd go back to the office tomorrow
Smiling inside at the life he'd borrow

Weekends he would shed his white shirt and tie
Drink Sneaky Pete and not give a damn why
