The Things I'll Never Say

Some people enter your life

so quietly,

you don't realize they're changing it

until one day

you look back

and can't remember

who you were before them.

There was a time

when every day felt the same.

I laughed,

I talked,

I existed—

but nothing truly reached my heart.

Then came a soul

that made ordinary moments

feel important.

A soul that never tried

to save me,

yet somehow

saved parts of me

I had already given up on.

And that's the strange thing—

they probably never knew.

They never knew

how much comfort lived

in their presence.

How a simple conversation

could calm a storm

they couldn't even see.

How some of my darkest days

became lighter

just because they existed in them.

Some people make you feel loved

through grand gestures.

Others do it

through patience,

through consistency,

through staying.

And somehow,

those are the things

that leave the deepest marks.

I often wonder

if they know

how much of them

still lives within me.

In the way I smile.

In the way I care.

In the way I try

to be better than I was yesterday.

Because some people

don't just become memories.

They become part of who you are.

And if life ever asks me

what the most beautiful thing

I ever received was,

I won't talk about gifts,

or luck,

or moments of success.

I'll talk about a soul

that walked into my life

without a reason,

stayed long enough

to make my world softer,

and left behind a warmth

that time could never take away.

Because sometimes,

the greatest gift

isn't being loved.

It's meeting someone

who reminds you

that your heart

is still capable

of feeling something beautiful. ???
