The Thief

Here I am at the building, I've waited for so long, I want to do this the right way, And make sure nothing goes wrong, I waited for the darkness, Waited for nights embrace, For when my work is done, No gem will be left in this place, I sneak inside the store, I wait for a sound, There is no one in here, So I look around, The cases are so full, I can't believe my eyes, So many beautiful gems, What a big surprise, I open the first case, And reach for a ring, All is going to plan, It makes me want to sing, Then I stop what I'm doing, I stop and think, This is not right, Water drips from a sink, This is not me, This is not who I am, I put back the ring, And close the case, BAM!!!, I go back outside, I walk a few feet, If I do this, My fate I will meet, I Just keep walking, The store pushed from my mind, My brother always told me, That I was to kind, But kindness is a good thing, My brother I tell you this, I refuse to be a Thief, The person no one will miss.
