The Tear That Fell

A tear fell from my eyes today
As I remembered something you use to say.

The memory, so soft and sweet
Caused my heart, to miss a beat.

Remembering those moments we use to share
Takes me to back to a time where we didn’t care.

Our life we thought would go on forever.
Thinking life would end, Oh Never.

He took you away from your life with me
And left me here to remember you, I see.

I’m grateful for the time we had
It‘s the missing you that makes me sad.

I miss your smile, I miss your voice,
To feel your warm embrace, I would rejoice.

So here I am , remembering you
Shedding a tear, oh yes it’s true.

I will always remember the time we had
Just know those tears I shed aren’t all sad

They are years of memories I cherish dear
The years with you that I see so clear.

My heart that has lost a friend so dear
Will never heal completely I fear.

This is a well crafted write. Losing that which we cherish so dearly is always a great shock. Seeing it as a part of life is wisdom and should give us some kind of comfort. A definite solid 7 for this poem. Enjoyed the read tonight!

You wrap yourself within your words and they fit you well. It's a very difficult task to lose a friend and say goodby forever and do it with style and grace and you have done just that. Emile. #7
