The Talk
You wanted me to talk
I talked about death
I talked about sadness
You wanted me to be truthful
I talked about how everything’s a blur
I talked about how sadness consumes me
You wanted me to be honest
I talked about struggling to live
I talked about how I want to quit
You wanted to help me
I asked you not to
I know you won’t understand
You told me it’s going to be okay
I asked you when
I asked you how
You promised soon
You don’t know how
I laughed
I cried
You asked me why
I cried
You heaved a sigh…
