The Sun

A stream that guides the rush of blood
Veins of earth, a sun that should
Turn this war and aid the good

Appraised for worth, an empty mind
A lie that wins in darkest times
Vain and death is all that shines

But if I see this darkness
If I can travel outwards
Pain, the rain, the light can’t dim now

Divine and tempting endings
Conclusions lie pretending
But I’m alone, there’s no returning

Reflections stare with my eyes
Redemption turns my skies
But I survive within these highs

And if I see the clouds come
A darkness overpowering the sun
Pain, the rain, my light can’t dim now
And with my candle I stand
Within lies that try to take my hand
Vain, insane, I hold it tighter
I stand alone now smiling
This candle’s light is guiding
Through the trees and fading paintings
I stand alone with pure intention
Within my soul I feel reflections
Darkness comes but I won’t fade now
