-the Struggle-

( From The Looking Back Series):

The struggle which battles within
grows stronger in me by the day.
Should I choose the dark path of sin
or heed the true words of the Way ?

You might think the choice is clear
if you've seen my life thus far.
The choice to live is so near,
writing these lines in my car.

Yet I have clearly known the meaning
of the deep, dark night of my soul
where desires outside the will of God
seem to me an attainable goal.

Still, my heart moves on to please God
as I yet listen for His Word,
to find the paths I once had trod,
to hear the voice I once had heard.

And God it is alone who knows
my beginnings from my end.
The choice I make in time will show
unto whom my knee will bend.

To the reader of these lines, fortunately for me, "The Struggle" represents a time that no longer exists. And yet, to varying degrees, this is something that each of us have to del with from time to time(only the reader knows for sure). To this end Have I posted this(& possibly others like it from the same period- not sure yet) that maybe itwill help lift others from their"dark night". God Bless, DOUG
