The Strength of the Oak Trees

The creeper crept
The willow wept
The Oak kept very strong.
The birds stopped singing
Bluebells stopped ringing
All sensed there was something wrong.

Animal stopped breeding
No food for feeding,
Creatures or man
Nature cowering,
As she watched the devouring
Of God's Almighty Plan.

The sun stopped shining,
No water divining,
All the seas ran dry,
It would be audacious,
And ungracious,
To ask the reason why.

But I will.
It was a bitter pill,
The world swallowed,
As Putin and his cult wallowed
And planned an invasion
Without persuasion,

From the people of Ukraine
A murderous war
Causing bloodshed and pain
Why, please explain.
Is it because they feed on greed
Which has caused them to go insane.

I have no explanation but imagine the children of Sodom & Gomorrah slaughtered by an enraged god, and wonder no more why Druids worshipped your oak! Aloha!

Oh Shirley, your poem is so deep. The whole situation is so unfathomable to peace loving people the world over. May God almighty protect the people of Ukraine and the world over from this madness, as well as the flora and fauna of the earth. Who can understand such madness? Thank you for writing this. You have a precious heart and a very gifted pen <3 Hugs to you dear Shirley. ~BJ
