The Street

THE STREET

In their own world, they are happy
Hailing everyone that passes their hobby
On our poverty baptized roads, they have brought life
On the cheeks of the sad with their drama, they have brought a smile
"Bàbá mi kò ní bàjé fun yín oooooooòooooòloun!" Their amazing slogan
On their activities can be placed no ban
For they are the sons of the soil
At least that is their regular claim
The bulk of the society see them as miscreants
But trust me, a whole lot of them are more brilliant
Much more than those you have over showered with love, care and attention
If only they had the same opportunity
They would have been more useful for society
I know this because I have been in their midst
All they need is a voice to listen to them
They are simply the good dudes and babes under the facade of bad boys and girls just for survival
They are simply the street!
