The Stranger

Your daughter gets remarried
And moves so far away
She robs you of your heart and joy
How can this be okay

She strips you of your blessing
The one you gave your love
A gift beyond description
Sent from Heaven above

How can she remember us
If she sees we're never there
Won't she think her Grandparents
Just simply do not care

Time is a lot like distance
Memories can be erased
This could be the hardest thing
That we have ever faced

She tells us they will visit us
Maybe twice a year
But how long before the visits stop
And they both just disappear

Those of you who've been there
Know this is the danger
How long will it really take
Before we become the stranger

I have 3 children, a son and daughters, in one year they all left us. The 2 girls got married, and the boy went to the service. At first, my wife and me, were shocked. We know that this will happen, BUT NOT in a single year. We haven't seen my son for 4 straight years and when we saw our daughters they have their son and daughter. For this reason, man will leave his mother and father and join to his wife...copy? We have to take the bitter with the sweet. Thanks. Ernialndo

My son is in the Army stationed miles from us. We only see them maybe three times a year. It's the pits. However, it was similar when I was in the service. It's life. They have four children anytime we see them they look different from the last time!
