The Storm Aftermath

The day began like the one before
The rain poured steadily down.
The wind hammered the back porch door,
Intensity was all around.

The trees in the yard swayed to and fro,
The livestock were all afraid.
That which was happening they did not know,
They appeared utterly dismayed.

Then as quickly as it had begun
The storm passed on through.
The animals through the yard did run
And enjoyed a day that was new.

No longer startled or dismayed
They pictured excitement anew.
Gone was the gloom that was earlier displayed
Instead was enthusiasm true.
