The Starry Night

Heaven eternal
Living cosmos swirling void
Cobalt blue madness

Entry to "the colour blue" contest

Written 23rd January 2017

Note: based on Van Gogh's painting "the starry night" depicting the night-time view from his asylum window. Van Gogh's use of blue against yellow and white is the bluest blue I can imagine.

I love this blue picture and wish I had it hanging someplace. You haiku was appropriate for it and the contest. It really captures the movement of the sky, its aliveness. You painted with words. Thanks for participating and congratulations.

Your poem has insight into the soul of the painter Mark. I visited his museum in Amsterdam and what struck me most about his work was his diversity. He lived his work....I loved your haiku Mark! ; ) 7
