The Starry Night

The Starry Night

When the night was dark
with just a crescent moon in sight
and the glittering of the stars
that made the starry night

In the sky of deep blue
they sparkled in the dark
their sparkling golden hue
lighted the darkness in his heart

With a canvass and a brush
he painted the night sky
and captured the starry night
the evanescent cosmic light

When hope was dimming in his soul
with nothing to cheer his doleful life
the starry night was a comfort
a healing to his frenzied nights

The starry night was painted
from the core of tormented mind
that found meaning and expression
in the art he made sublime
