The Stain

I've been in the depths of hell and come out the other side.. Though not quite unscathed; however I survived. My scars are internal and within they stain.. They hold the memory of nightmares and shame. Don't judge my decisions and respect what I say.. Years of anxiety and anguish has made me this way. If you break my trust then its beyond repair.. I can't repeat history, it would be too much to bare. I'm complex and fragile, but in time I will grow.. Healing takes time for this internal stain to go. So please be patient and I hope you understand.. If you treat me with kindness I'll forever hold your hand. 7th June 2020 Kindness Poetry Contest Sponsor: Regina Riddle
