The Splendor of Autumn
I saw a golden leaf break free
From way atop a maple tree
I watched it as it floated down
And came to rest upon the ground
I looked up at its other friends
Soon to meet their timely end
They'll take their place upon the silt
And form a multicolored quilt
A blanket made by natures hand
Just like she does and does again
Leaving all the forest trees
To hibernate in Winters freeze
But for now, they're like a blaze
A morning mist creates a haze
Until the sun comes shining through
Creating such a splendid view
Yellow, orange, brown and red
So much beauty spins my head
Fall is such a splendid time
Filled with never ending rhyme
