The Space Between Us
I am journeying on the straight path of life listening to the music of wisdom and following migrant birds wherever they roam, they have magic in their wings to soar in the skies and when they land on the shore I watch them take a shower in the water and use their beaks to rake up their feather and put on new clothes, such is the wisdom of birds. I want my cabin full of them and a keeper to take care of them and when my spirit is down I want all of the birds to gather around me and sing the bird symphony. The space between us is large, the space between us is covered with asphalt, the space between us is dark. I am looking for a path to get out of the yard, I am looking for a place where I can breathe fresh air, the stench is rising up in the sun and all the scavengers are on the run. Come and swim in the ocean with me and listen to the ocean string and watch the symphony ride up the hill. The fish are dancing and flicking in the sky and the universe is bidding the sun goodbye, It is going on a journey to the north pole to examine the ice sheath in the ground and measure the space between the south pole and the north pole, the temperature is rising and the ice is melting; there is a space between us and it runs on an imaginary line that is stitched up in the sky. The space between us is getting larger and a multitude of women and young girls are marching up the hill in colorful clothes smiling at the distance and waving banners, they spread out on every corner, on the hill and on the playing fields. The men have formed a loop walking without shoes behind the women with their sneakers around their neck and they are almost out of breath. The spaces between us is long and wide, the space between us has formed a pinnacle in the sky.
