The Sound of Rain

there is nothing more peaceful and calming...
than the sound of the rain it's very charming...
pounding reverberating like an angry train....
this melodious sound of rain...
that beats down on my window pane...

it puts my mind and soul at ease...
this gives me a sense of peace....
to relase life's stress...
and discombobulated mess...
a sense of calm rains down over me...
a touch of peace is what comes to be...

This takes me to the mountains where the sshhhhsshing of rain in the pine trees is seductive and hypnotizing. Thank you for reading and commenting on my poems also, Deneen.

So very well written. Love the atmosphere and touch of nostalgia. The sound of rain is also the best sleeping aid in the world. Love this one. Regards Heidie

Back in the 1950's my friend Danny who I have written a number of poems about him or he was mentioned in them, we built a club house made of wood and a tin roof, with tar paper on it. well many times it would rain real hard and the sound of rain hitting the roof was such a sound not to forget. this poem of yours takes me back to those wonderful days of long ago, thanks for writting it.

I so agree. You have expressed it so well. It actually makes me long for rain, on this gorgeous sunny day. Amazing poetry! Love, Shar

Oh...how I'm looking forward to that sound, smell and our yard could use the drink! We have a bit of rain in the forecast tomorrow evening. Hooray! Lovely poem!~Carrie
