The Sound of a Broken Heart
It's never ever silent
The whole wide world can hear
A pain that demands attention
From whoever's standing near
It cries out in utter sadness
As the loneliness takes control
The feeling of dreaded rejection
That's laid dormant in your soul
The wailing of broken dreams
That somehow feels betrayed
Keeps playing in your mind
As your love becomes decayed
A broken heart's not silent
As anyone who's been there knows
It shatters our very being
As the sadness overflows
