The Soul of a Poet
I think at times our souls must suffer
And our hearts become our buffer
We write of truth and of sadness
Into our lives we bring such madness
To make our poems true and right
We must feel the pain we write
So we put the sadnes in out hearts
It is the way our poetry starts
And if we do not feel the pain
Our poetry has naught to gain
Yes, we may stir up controversy
(I am a poet, lord have mercy)
Some may criticize what we do
So poets,to your own heart be true
