The sooth sayer
I lived in a remote village in a delta region, The majority of the villagers were illiterate, It was an early dawn in the month of March, I was studying for my public degree exam, Kudu-kudu sound was heard on the street, My mother came into the home suddenly, She was afraid of the sooth sayer's words, He would tell the unfortunate news clearly, He said "Good times are coming"repeatedly, My grandma gave him a half measure of rice, I rushed to see him out of curiousity, He said your young child was in danger, I found complete peace at home for an hour, My grandma asked me not to go out, My brother said he has to take the exam, After a long struggle,I went to the college, My brother came with me for moral support, Everyone at home was waiting for my arrival, They all gasped when they saw me at once, I was deeply saddened by their blind faith.
