The Songs of Yesterday

There are songs of yesterday
That in my heart i sing
Joys that nods the heart
The bells of gladness ring.

There are songs of yesterday
The musings at the farms
Where creatures cheer the air
With summer in their arms .

There are songs of yesterday
Those rocky childhood days
When nothing's left but sorrows
Warmth and love decays.

Now those days are here again
Like the summer wind in play
How I long to play again
The songs of yesterday.

This poem is amazing! It is true that when we hear certain songs they can bring back sweet memories from childhood. It happens to me all the time! Beautifully written, Mustapha!

this is really nice. Is it for that summer contest? If so, be sure to put the word summer somewhere in the title so it can place!!
