The Soaring Heart

The soaring heart is like a bird
winging through the skies,
unhindered by the obstacles
beneath it as it flies.

But when its hunger bids it light
upon an offered limb,
it must choose carefully and well,
and not select by whim...

for when the heart encompasses
a new love of its own,
that love becomes its sustenance
and finally, its home.

Hi Darlene, in this case I was lucky that I was the limb upon which to light. It has worked thus for for a couple of decades. Happy Memorial Day weekend My Friend.

Thanks again Beryl! I remember when, early in our relationship, the woman that would be my wife and I were talking about what we wanted. We disagreed (we never argued) and she finally said, "I know my own mind" to which I replied, "yes, but you need to get to know your heart as I already do." It took some explaining; she was too grounded in science to understand what her own heart wanted. Take care, Ron
