The Simple Things
The shrieking sun
& ponderous waters
The cerulean skies
& infinite stars
The radiant flowers
With silver lined petals
All these things,
Among many,
Are things that amaze me
But beneath the
Shrieking sun
Ponderous waters
Cerulean skies
Infinite stars
& radiant flowers,
Lies sadness
Subtle sadness
Such beautiful things
Can hide sadness
That is why I am afraid
Of the things that amaze me
