The Silent Hope

I have no words for you
Yet I am not silent
My love is patience too
Where is the penitent?

I shall never be mute
But I live in silence
Your world assails the truth
You castle on pretense

My love endures the fire
No revenge nor design
To retreat nor retire
From your wild state of mind

My love still covers you
And keep your weakness hid
Conscience is blind for true
When hate it walks amid

Contrary to ego
I wait the fall of leaves
The unveil of the foe
The fang that true love grieves

I live in the silence
The evening's quiet sea
The night that has no fence
With love and eternity.
