The Silent Canopy

Tall pillars rise in quiet, holy grace,
And catch the golden shafts of dying day,
A green and hidden, ancient resting place,
Where busy winds and shadows softly play.
The leaves breathe out a sweet and earthy sigh,
Far from the rush of world and hurried sky.
