The Shy Activist

I know is sounds funny, the fact that I’m so shy,
To say that I’m an activist for anything.
I don’t like big crowds, and I’ve never figured out why.
You’ll never get me up on any stage to sing.

But whatever I defend, I’m passionate about.
I believe very strongly and hold to my beliefs.
There are times I lose my cool and get up and shout,
But then I hide and heave a heavy sigh of relief.

Put me on the radio and I can talk all day,
But don’t even think about putting me on t.v.
One on one in a studio, I have lots to say,
But the lights and cameras always make me queasy.
