The Show Is About To Begin

Ladies and Gentlemen! Ladies and Gentlemen please! The show is about to begin, So put your mind at ease. The players are in their place, And the band is ready to play. The curtain is about to rise, Get ready to be blown away. A hush fell over the crowd, As a spotlight hit the stage. Then a man slowly crept up, And freed a tiger from its cage. Crouched and ready to pounce, The audience screamed as it neared. A cloud of smoke erupted, Then abruptly disappeared. The drum roll stopped on a dime, And everyone there was smitten. The ferocious tiger replaced, With the cutest Calico kitten. A young woman came into view, Toting a saucer of milk. She placed it next to the cat, Covering both with a scarf of silk. When she pulled the scarf away, And looked at the crowd with a grin. A tiger skin rug now lay, Where once the kitten had been. Her partner rolled up the rug, And tossed it into the cage. Again the tiger appeared, What a performance on the stage! The audience stood and cheered, They clapped and shouted out loud. But their joy soon disappeared, When the tiger pounced on the crowd. In terror, they ran for their lives. A magic trick, played once again. The tiger would feast tonight, Now the show would really begin.
