The Show

The quiet space no longer full

Does its job as blood flows through

When will it stop and take a break

Wasted time on this broken fool

Nothing calling for me to do

Reaching hand no grasp returned

Thirty five years our clock did tick

Why now this cruel and senseless trick

Oh I know I must let go

Let her smile light up the endless show

However knowing doesn’t ease my pain

The songs to short, one more refrain?

The fickle finger we call fate

Why not two through the golden gate

The message screaming between my ears

The mystic meaning missed by me

Pondering, pondering what it can mean

Gone all that was and I thought to be

One imprisoned and one set free.

Time will tell I endless pray

Goodbye is all that’s left for me to say
