The Shogun

A Japanese what Doc? A Katana Brick,
A single edged sword approximately three feet long
with about a one foot long handle, razor sharp, and
whoever is using it knows what they are doing.
Who would use something like that Doc? and don't say
shadows will ya! Well Brick I'm no expert.

Brick, I have an idea, come with me for a moment.
Sure Doc, where are we going? To my office, we'll
find out who would use a katana. Looking over
the M.E's shoulder, Brick saw an image of
a katana being held by a person dressed all
in black. The only visible thing he noticed, Eyes!

Brick whistled through his teeth, a long soft whistle.
" I'll second that Brick" " I would guess at night that
would look like a shadow wouldn't it Dock"? pointing
to the screen the ME showed showed Brick the caption below the
figure. " Says here this is a Samauri Shogun" Looks
like you may have your hands full Brick!

"I guess the real question here Doc, is why New York
why now what for ya know what I mean Doc?"
"Don't ask me Brick, your the detective not me"
"Yeah, but this ain't Japan, this is New York and we
don"t have so called Samauri Sho....what ever.
" How am I supposed to catch a shadow?"

Ten in the morning Brick walked into the twenty-third.
The desk Sgt. Will Sommers or Willie as he was known
greeted Brick. " Yo Brick, the Captain wants ya upstairs.
" What! I'm just dropping off my stuff and headin home."
" He said as soon as I saw ya to tell ya, so you been told,
so ya better get your tail up there!" " Nutz"

Brick knocked on the door of Captain Chet Rowles
Captain of the twenty- third Vice division, the Captain
waved him in, " take a seat Rodney" Brick grinned, the Capt.
didn't call any of his people by nick names.
" What do you think your doing detective?"
"Your a Vice Cop, not a Homicide Cop!"

             " Your off the case!"
