The Shepherd

Out in the pasture grazing about their way
The Shepherd is keeping an eye out for beast of prey
The sheep being so oblivious to any such attack
It is the Shepherd who will provide all that they lack

Each day from early in the morn
He follows them through dirt paths that are so warn
And as the sun dips out of sight
He leads them back home in the frigid night

Each day He is by their side
Through the mountains and valleys so wide
He leads them all
And each one of His sheep knows His Call

And if even one sheep should wonder astray
He would command the other ninety and nine to stay
No matter how bleak, He will always, always, try
Kind of like what Jesus does for You and I

Yeah, listening to the Shepherd is a good thing
For they know the destruction that wondering will bring
For others desire and they are such easy prey
Thank God that our Shepherd is here to stay

amen, all have gone astray seeking their own wisdom and guidance, blessed are those which are quickened with a new vision and path seeking not their own understanding but seeking to reveal a part of the son within that he might receive glory,,,

yes, exactly what the good shepherd does, leading the ones that stray back to the fold! I heard that was the purpose for the symbol of a cane at Xmas time: a symbol of God's guidance!
