P.S. Awtry Poet Rhyme

The Shark Unmasked

Is he here or is she there?
Oh, those sharks are everywhere!
In disguise before our eyes,
from the darkness they arise!
And when we least expect it,
vulnerable and unprotected,
they will bite, and then slip
out of sight, in the night!

But in the morning light,
I see the scars 
from the wars
I’ve fought with the shark,
and every mark
tells a story very dark.
For the greatest of my foes
can’t be punched in the nose...

Now my vision is much clearer,
as I peer with out fear, nearer,
I recognize the shark
in my mirror!

Gershon Wolf January 7, 2019 at 12:35 PM Ha, ha! … And I thought it was going to be a lawyer!! … Seriously now, I'm going to go against the trend a bit here: I really do think it's beneficial to get on oneself, even get a bit ticked off, in order to urge oneself onward---provided it doesn't become abusive. I.e., use that mirror as a positive spur, not a negative/painful spur...OK, I'm off of my soapbox now. :) … Nicely done winner for the contest! Best wishes, Gershon P.S.
