The Shadow That Is Me

As I walk along beside myself
Looking for the chance
To come around, upon the ground
I'm just a shadow of this man

What once was whole is now not me
When I lost you that's when I found
The hollow, soulless, darkened being
To which this sorrow is now bound

I tried to please you, but failed again
My hearts all but been torn out
I hope your happy, as I grieve
For the shadow that is me

My sunshine disappeared today
There's not a chance I'll be around
Left walking is the shallow man
My silence is my sound

Taking every chance I have
So lives the tall dark proof
Trailing, leading, by my side
Are my reminders of the truth

Left beside everyone
There for all to see
Known to all, who've took the fall
Is the shadow that is me

What comes first me or you
I'll support you when I can
When the light of love shines from above
It's below you I will stand

So look for me when love is near
And let go when darkness falls
When you grieve that's when you'll see)
The shadow that is me

A nice lyric ... 'my silence is my sound' is a significant line ...
