Happy birthday Kris
For the Good Times that I’ve known
The hungry years were lean to me
Yet you made me feel at home
Searching in the darkness
For the truth to set me free
Lost somewhere in forever
Your spirit, still guides me
Happy Birthday Kris
For my Cleanest Dirty Shirt
I still seen a shining Rainbow
Through a world of pain and hurt
Seen too many Darkened Corners
Of dark and Dusky taverns
Drowned far too many sorrows
In deep and lonely caverns
Happy birthday Kris
For it’s only time can tell
Good intentions seldom matter
As we paved a way to Hell
The Silver Tongued devil loses
When that veil of darkness parts
And we grasp those Golden Chances
When we look inside our hearts
Happy Birthday Kris
That shining Texas light
Holds hope in the hearts of the weary
Clenched fists in the toughest fight
Though you don’t even know me
I’ve lived in the shadow of you
In awe of the love and the Wonder
And the selfless things you do
Happy Birthday Kris
What’s done must be undone
A Heaven gone to Hell
In a World Under the Gun
Billy Dee and me were buddies
In the worse sense of the word
But it’s hard to Beat the Devil
No matter what you’ve heard
Happy Birthday Kris
Your songs ring strong and true
This tribute isn’t worthy
But it’s meant from me to you
Though close, I’m not yet perfect
Though I cry, the tears of clowns
The going up has always been
Well Worth the Coming down
