Notes About The Poem

The Seventh Day

The Seventh Day

The Seventh Day, dear God did pray
   after He knew His work was done.
Created First, was Day and Night;
   day number Four- Sun, Moon, and Stars.

After He knew His work was done,
   He viewed day Two of Seas and Sky.
Day number Four, Sun, Moon, and Stars;
   perused His Third, Land, Plants, and Trees.

He viewed day Two of Seas and Sky.
   Day Five, Sea Creatures, Birds were made;
perused His Third, Land, Plants, and Trees.
   Day Six...all Beasts and Man were formed.

Day Five, Sea Creatures, Birds were made;
   and soon, the Seventh, God would Rest.
Day Six...all Beasts and Man were formed;
   God set His Seventh to be free.

And soon, the Seventh, God would Rest.
   Created First, was Day and Night.
God set His Seventh to be free...
   The Seventh Day, dear God did pray.
