The Service of Veterans
They are mothers, fathers, sisters and brothers.
They are my neighbors, co-workers and friends.
They are defenders, keepers and others.
They inspire the writings of many a pen.
All are gallant, determined, and disciplined.
All have sacrificed much for our gain.
All are my family and blood and one.
All honor belongs to their name.
Give a salute for their sacrifice given,
Give them a “thank you” for caring.
Give each respect and admiration
Give regard for the wounds some are bearing.
