The Separation of My Heart
I’m sitting here in an empty place
I’m sitting here with darkness to face
I’m sitting here alone
I’m alone here because my heart was freed
I’m alone here so full of need
I’m alone here tonight.
My heart sits alone as well
My heart sits near the place I fell
My heart sits alone tonight
If I had only kept my heart with care
If I had seen how quickly it would tear
I wouldn’t be here alone tonight
But my heart just wanted to feel
But my heart just wanted to see things real
So my heart sits alone tonight
And that’s why I’m in this empty place
That’s why I have only darkness to face
That’s why I’m sitting here alone.
