The Seabed

A wave of sorrow
like yesterdays, tomorrows
is the ticking of the heart
it's the tick tock body, of the clock
So, a day is born
knowing, the night is torn
as the impossible light
keeps, trying to fight
the Seas, engulfing steps
climbing backwards, as it wept
for it's knowledge, you thought had lied
because the waves tried to crush it all
before it reached the shores
so it takes retreat
and takes their pain
down to the deep
there, stays anchored
to Seabed floor
because, freedoms light
felt, through storms of night
was seen, though not believed
and through the cutting shards, you glimpsed
a hand, descends
amongst that Sea Glass, and it bleeds
saying, 'now believe

 l was always here,
  l was always near
  and do not fear
  l conquered death'

Thanks for sharing this... exposing your thoughts through your unique poetic style. Welcome to Poetry Soup. I welcome you with the love of the Lord, expressed by John 3:16 of the Bible, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." A moving free-verse meditation on grief, endurance, and faith. The recurring sea imagery gives sorrow a physical depth, while the closing voice of reassurance brings the poem from storm-dark despair into a powerful, redemptive sense of presence and victory.
