The Sea Calls Me -Rondelete

The sea calls me
I hear its distant voice always
The sea calls me
Wherever I go I’m not free
In my ears constant all my days
Ever blessed or cursed there it stays
The sea calls me

In my mind’s eye
I again see the unfurled sails
In my mind’s eye
In the wind flapping their loud cry
Mate walking and checking the rails
Now watching for threatening gales
In my mind’s eye

Waves by the boards
Pitching, rolling going its way
Waves by the boards
A distant land now headed towards
Perhaps to find a peaceful bay
With calm waters and useful quay
Waves by the boards
