The Sea
The Sea
By Betty Harp Butler
I think I had forgotten
the beauty of the Sea,
And also the infinity,
With endless waves crashing
near me.
It must be a glimpse of
heaven and eternity --
A window open for you, and for me
Wave after wave near by,
Coming from the line that reaches
From the Earth to the Sky.
Rolling, rolling and splashing on the shore.
Then, reversing their course, and disappearing
forevermore.
Wave after wave, roll on and on,
A lovely melody they sing –
“Splish, splash, Splish,” and
Then they are gone.
