The Sea

THE SEA The waves are slapping against the shore The night air chills the sea The birds have left the beach This time Are they hiding from me? I am walking hand in hand Dear Lord It’s only you and me I thought I was alone at first When did you come to be? I’ve struggled through the angry tide I’ve tried to take it all in stride I used to pray and say to you I used to tell you what to do. But when the tide goes out to sea And all hope seems to fade Its times like this dear Lord I know the price you’ve paid Forgive me Lord for not trusting you I know you love me through and through I need to come to you in prayer I promise just to leave it there.
