The Scourge of the West
The meanest man in town,
That everybody feared.
Shot anybody down,
When anybody neared.
The scourge of the West,
And the ultimate sinner.
The Devil gets the best,
From Dirty Dick Skinner.
Had a scar on his cheek,
With a patch on his eye.
He'd prey on the meek,
And make women cry.
His bad whiskey breath,
Made everyone sick.
The Master of Death,
Was Ole Dirty Dick.
No Sheriff lived long,
With Dirty Dick around.
The choir sang a song,
Then put him in the ground.
The whole town racked,
With no law and order.
Most decent folk packed,
And headed for the border.
Then on a frigid winter day,
In the middle of December,
Rode a man on a Grey,
And a look you'd remember.
He had cold deadly eyes,
With his nose out of place.
Caught Dick by surprise,
And shot him in the face.
But before he could die,
Without any haste.
Let two bullets fly,
Aimed below the waste.
Then he took a big drink,
And tipped his black hat.
Gave us all a sly wink,
And that was just that.
When he rode out of town,
Everybody could tell,
Heaven sent him down,
To send Dick to Hell.
He was buried real quick,
And his tombstone read...
Here Lies Dirty Dick,
He's Better Off Dead!
