The Scent of Water

The hope of a plant is water
 And the hope of the heart is love
A heart without love will falter
As will a tree if no rain falls  from above

 Perhaps lonely hearts can detect love's scent
 As the tree detects the scent of water
 Both these gifts are heaven sent
 To be treasured now  and ever after

 By water we are baptized
As we become born again
Heaven's hope is the cherishes prize
Where love forever reigns
