The Scarlet Cord in the Window

Scarlet reminds us of blood.
There was an evil like a flood.
Jesus was the last sacrificed life.
God, through Jesus, stopped the strife,
The power of evil cut like a cord, cut,
Broken away and the torrent of horror shut
Away from His beloved Creation;
All people everywhere with no beration.
The evil had gone so deep, sacrifices became daughters and sons!
They believed the devil's lies and cons,
Killing, hating, deceiving each other,
With no love even for father and mother!
So one woman took courage and saved,
Helped God's men the way she paved
By putting out her window a sign;
The scarlet cord, an action so fine.
Now centuries later, on dreary days,
We can remember a right action pays.
Trusting God's signs saves from satan's horror,
Transforms fear and regrets into peace and power.
In your life's "window" the scarlet cord put
And clean your conscience forever of "soot."
Our friendship is with the King of all.
Daily He's with us at our call.
This amazing, wonderful Jesus, Lord of Life,
Instantly together even more than husband or wife.
Even in life's difficult or mundane Things
Our heart can feel it has wings
Because, through our "open window" His grace flows
And the security of forgiveness, His love, in Highs or Lows.
