The Savage Day

The day started out just like any other I was laughing and playing with my brother I was called inside the house for a moment Not knowing what to expect, but torment My friend Joel was on the phone and cried He said unto me my girlfriend has died My biligerent father in a drunken daze Wouldn't let me see her deathly ways I wanted to go see her be buried in earth To let her know she will always be first The first to kiss and hold my hand The first to love my boyish band A band of friends I admire today still Us together on top of these hills If I could go back I would kiss her lightly caress her neck and shoulders ever slightly For I will remember this Savage Day When I lost my Genevieve in a horrible way
