The Sadness of the Tin-Soldier

The sadness of the tin-soldier

The little tin-soldier was crying
He didn’t understand
Why there was always fighting
Here on carpet-land
He aimed his gun to fire
But purposely he missed
The little tin-soldier was crying
Cos he was a pacifist

He didn’t like going to war
To fight and then destroy
He just wanted picnics
And to play with other toys
He would love to drive in cars
Or be in teddys gang
But then he saw a soldier
So he aimed and shouted bang

You got me now you dirty rat
The other soldier said
He then fell off the old chair arm
And landed on his head
He moaned a lot with oohs and aaars
And laid there slowly dying
I’m sorry so sorry said the tin-soldier man
And again he started crying

Robert.. Tonight, the mountain sky is clear. In a few hours the stars will tease me with their winks. The twilight is for your poem, and it's as enjoyable as the coming sunset!
