The Sadness

The sadness isn’t going away
Happiness only comes in small doses
The weight is on my mind
Uncork this bottle of fear
I want so much to believe

I want it to all work out
Is there a master plan?
Everything I’ve always wanted
All my dreams come true

Fell in love
Lost my heart
Anger consumes
All the spaces left behind

Trusting few
Wary of many
Day-by-day life plays out
My eyes lie on the prize
