Two old people took a road less traveled Recently they did so Age can confuse, disorient Sometimes bad things happen though The road ended choices presented Should they go around the block Back to the road traveled familiar Or onto a road maybe see livestock We chose the latter way to go Time to us seemed to move slow But then we realized, we were lost Nothing looked familiar, although Beauty seemed to surround the senses Grandeur drew us to forget We drove on in resplendence Then a road her attention did whet A road quite well traveled appeared He bypassed in his daze She told him to turn around(they did) The way home found, glory! we praise

sometimes getting lost can be a good thing. I have seen too many horror movies though of people getting lost on old country roads and in forests!! Good one, SAra.

Andrea, Yes, those scary things seen on TV in movies and now a days in the news can be terrifying. People are being injured or killed in the Atlanta area on the interstates. I don't even want to think about going up in that area anymore. I don't see how our world can keep standing with all the evil around. Thanks for dropping by. Sara

Sara, I've enjoyed reading your Summertime series. Reminded me of traveling the original U.S. Route 66 with my kids. The days traveled can take you places., who knows where you might end up when you follow your feet. Now., where's that map. -Richard

Richard, I remember a long time ago we went to Needles, California and I guess we traveled on Route 66. We were in Arizona at Flagstaff and wanted to say we had been to California so that is the reason we went there. It might be nice to travel that route once again but I kind of double that it will happen unless we had someone else to go and navigate. Thanks for dropping by. Sara

Old age can be confusing. I'm already in that state. Hugs.

Victor, Yes, agreed. Some days it is worse than others. They said last night on the news that walking for a certain length of time 3 days a week helps to keep the brain functioning much better. For those who can do that it would be an easy fix. Thanks for dropping by. Sara

Hey, this can happen easily. Sometimes I get to thinking while I'm driving, and then I find myself somewhere totally lost. I've had to ask someone how to get on the right road. No biggie!

Milton, I have heard it said that it is dangerous to think. LOL..I don't know what my husband was thinking but after a short time driving on this not so well traveled road, I was beginning to get anxious. LOL..Thanks for the visit to my page. I appreciate the time spent here. Sara

Kim, Yes, time spent together is worth the long ride not knowing where in the world we are or where we are going. Thanks for stopping by. Sara

A great poem with many imageries and wonderful stories, it's delightful to find your way. It's always easy to get lost in a very similar architecture and scenery.

Lasaad, Sometimes in rural America there are no road signs so that you even know what road upon you are traveling. LOL. That adds to the problem of not knowing exactly where one is located. Thanks for dropping by. Sara

Tom, I was really glad that I saw a road that was familiar but I say a sign that was familiar and I knew it was the way home. My husband is having trouble with his spatial part of the brain and he is the one who has always known which way to go. We needed to pulled over and turn on the GPS and let it tell us how to go home. Thanks for your visit. Sara
