The River of Blues

Well you can taste it on your tongue
it hits hard
and rubs your back
I'm talking about those deep hearted blues
it resonates in your soul

Drift on down that river 
the river of blues
   the river of bluuues 
      the river of bluuues

grabbing you and caressing you at once
making your mind drift away
away from the daily grind
making you relax and forget about life for a while

Drift on down that river
the river of blues
  the river of bluuues 
      the river of bluuues

Now we've been on this long road
separate and together forever
   forever
      oh yea forever
and i got to say
we need to step back for today
soak it in and move on
stop stepping on yourself
and take a breath

Drift on down that river

i said
let yourself drift on down that river
