The Rising Son

The Rising Son

If you have a chance to look
Toward the rising sun
And dream what days of new will bring
When all is said and done
Perhaps the rising sun will bring
The dreams of yesterday
The hopes we had in younger days
Before we fell into dismay
The faded dreams of days gone by
Will fuel an aging heart
Thats wise enough to know that dreams
Are broken from the start
So if you dare enough to dream
Beyond the rising sun
And know that deep inside your heart
They're someday sure to come
You'll find your way to paradise
Before your life is done
With your regrets in sweet repose
Beside the rising son
